When a Stranger Calls a Friend of a Friend

If you happen to be in Toronto this summer be sure to check out When a Stranger Calls a Friend of a Friend, a visual survey of contemporary legends featuring work by an amazing international group of drawing and illustration artists (including some of my illustrations).

If you do not find yourself in Toronto, check out their website as they do some amazing things with some very talented peeps…

Carnival Time at Downend School

Gifted and Talented students parade their carnival puppets with these amazing Jungle Book themed creations! Today we paraded the puppets with the rest of the year 7 students. The giant puppets (which were inspired by Jungle Book characters) led samba dancers and music with style! I was running the workshops for Full Beam Visual Theatre -thanks Rachel and Naz for coming to watch the final performance!!

Bristol Ferment

Gongoozler (Rosanne Wakely, Corina Bona and myself) will be performed at the Ferment Festival on the 10th July. Ferment is a festival for emerging theatre makers, and runs for two weeks at the Bristol Old Vic in July (http://www.bristololdvic.org.uk/1017.html).  Gongoozler will test the shadowy waters of the theatre piece we are currently devising. It is una mezclar of shadow installation, puppery and sound. And it shall be engaging and interactive. We will be performing with experiments in music by Jonathan Farr.

So now I’ve got my Blog up and running (whoop), I shall be posting regular updates of whats going on in my creative world. This will happen (I promise) slowly but surely. I may back track a little (forgive me) as so much has been going on in the past few months and its all so amazing that it deserves to be written about right here!
